Deborah Fields grew up in California. With her family, she traveled extensively, and grew to appreciate adventure and the wild places of the world. She engaged in private art classes from an early age and always loved to paint and draw.
Deborah attended college in San Luis Obispo, California, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with a concentration on Graphic Design.
She moved to Alaska shortly after completing college. She now works full time as a designer and illustrator in her home in Eagle River, Alaska. She shares her life with her husband, 2 sons and their dog, Hank.
“I try to always be open toward new ideas. I consistently work toward being a valuable team player and visual problem solver. I believe artists should never stop exploring . . . traveling to new places, meeting new people, staying close to family and dear friends, stopping to notice light and shadows, the beauty in all things. This is what keeps me alive and creative. ”
